First of all, does Gwyneth Paltrow look different on the March cover of Glamour? She looks a bit too apple-cheeked, which makes me wonder about fillers. I don’t think that’s the product of Photoshop either – I think she’s getting fillers and Botox on the reg. Anyway, yes, Goop covers the new issue of Glamour to promote her collaboration with Juice Beauty, and because she’s no longer getting magazine covers to promote film roles. You can read Goop’s Glamour interview here. Some highlights:

Believe in yourself: “Self-belief is everything. You have to have enough self-belief to see where you’re gonna end up and not let anybody derail you.”

The new archetype of womanhood: “I think we’re in the midst of creating a new archetype of a woman, and we’re gonna get there. And I’ve never minded pushing anything along, taking some slings and arrows. Our daughters will look at us and be like, “Oh, so you get to work and be a mommy and wear beautiful lipstick.” I mean, when they have a hole in their uniform, I sew it. I make the food; I bathe them. And I’m a sexual being and a powerful woman and entrepreneur. I’m all of those things. We now realize that we have permission to be everything.”

Her relationship with Chris Martin: “We spend a lot of time together. He’s been away for two weeks [promoting his album]. Last night he got in at midnight and slept here so he could surprise the kids in the morning, we could all have breakfast, and he could take them to school. So … we’re not living together, but he’s more than welcome to be with us whenever he wants. And vice versa: I sleep in his house in Malibu a lot with the kids. We’re still very much a family, even though we don’t have a romantic relationship. He’s like my brother.”

She’s not in a rush to re-marry: “I believe in marriage. But I’m not even divorced yet! So give me a minute.”

Her kids: “They’re in a really good space. They’re smart, they’re funny, they have pretty good heads on their shoulders. We’ll see what difficulties come with adolescence and what careers they want. Unfortunately, I think they’re both gonna be drawn to perform. They’re naturals – they sing, act, play guitar, do stand-up – it’s brimming out of them. So I feel like my mother. Whenever I said I wanted to be an actress, she said, ‘Oh no, don’t. You’re too smart to be an actress. Do something else!’ ”

She’s self-made: “People think, ‘She’s just a rich kid.’ Until I was 18, I was. Then I was broke. I’ve never taken a dime off my parents. I’m completely self-made … I went to UC Santa Barbara, and when I quit to try to be an actress, my dad was like, ‘That’s great, but I’m not gonna help you.’ I was like, ‘Yeah, right.’ And he was like, ‘No, I’m not.’ So I got an apartment with a roommate; I worked as a hostess at a restaurant; I would scrounge quarters to buy Starbucks — and walk there to save gas. I remember once asking my dad for money, like, ‘Please, I’m really stuck. Can you help?’ And he said, ‘You’re more than welcome to come over for dinner.’ That was it. Those were the days. Enough to know the value of money.”

Juice Beauty & her California posse: “The line is made in California, so I was thinking of my California posse: Cameron, Blythe, Apple, Drew, Reese, Kate, Chelsea. If you were to ask me what my biggest success is, it’s that I’ve been able to maintain and nourish my relationships. As you get older, you choose friends based on not only what feels resonant and warm but if they’re bringing something to your life. My women friends are incredibly intelligent. There’s no posturing, no competition. Especially in Los Angeles, I see pockets of friends who are very competitive, and I think, What is the point? I would rather be alone in bed with a book than have a girlfriend who is like that.”

The girlfriends she name-checks? Cameron Diaz, Blythe Danner, Apple Martin, Drew Barrymore, Reese Witherspoon, Kate Hudson and Chelsea Handler. Chelsea’s head just exploded from being included in that group. As for the “not competitive” thing – I get it, I understand what she’s saying, but my first thought was “spoken like a true Queen Bee.” Maybe she genuinely not competitive with her girlfriends. Or maybe she feels – as she’s always felt –that she’s the most important person in whichever group she’s in and that no one CAN “compete” with her (except for Jennifer Lawrence, haha).

As for the rest of it… Classic Goop. Chris and Gwyneth are like brother-sister? I can totally see that. And as for Goop having it all… sure. But when hasn’t she had it all, or at least tried to convince everyone that she has it all?
