LOS ANGELES (CelebrityAccess) – Jim Huff, a multi-platinum selling Canadian songwriter/producer/guitarist and composer for film and television, passed away on September 24, following a battle with prostate cancer.

Huff began his career in music as an A&M recording artist. From there he branched out into production, working with bands like Mannequin, The Works and, briefly, Teenage Head. He later moved to Los Angeles where he worked as a producer and songwriter for acts including Edwin, Donica Knight, Joe Bonamassa, Jocelyn, The Mudmen, and Holly Brook (Skylar Grey). As a composer, his resume includes shows on The Discovery Channel, NBC movies of the week, Days of Our Lives, and the HBO feature film Under Heavy Fire.

Huff was reportedly in the process of completing a solo album at the time of his passing, which will be released posthumously.

A celebration of life is expected to take place in LA shortly.

Huff was 61-years-old.
